Biographical Notes About The Falk Family

The name "Falk" (Falcon) is derived from the house the family lived in, which was called "Zum Falken." The house, which was only 11'-6" wide, same as many other houses in the Ghetto, was built in 1550 for Rabbi Moshe of Epstein, which was a small town in the Taunus mountains near Frankfurt. As usual in those days, Rabbi Moshe's descendants adapted the name of the house as their last name.

No further details are known about this family.

Since Callman Abraham Falk only had two daughters, both of whom married into our family, the name became extinct.
